Finding It (Losing It #3) by Cora Carmack - Book Review!

Finding It by Cora Carck
My rating: 3.5 stars
Published: October 15th, 2013
Publisher: William Morrow Paperbacks
Series: Losing It #3
Format: Kindle
Pages: 320
Main Characters: Kelsey Summers, Jackson Hunt
Book Links: Amazon | Barnes & Noble

Summary from Goodreads:

Sometimes you have to lose yourself to find where you truly belong...

Most girls would kill to spend months traveling around Europe after college graduation with no responsibility, no parents, and no-limit credit cards. Kelsey Summers is no exception. She's having the time of her life . . . or that's what she keeps telling herself.

It's a lonely business trying to find out who you are, especially when you're afraid you won't like what you discover. No amount of drinking or dancing can chase away Kelsey's loneliness, but maybe Jackson Hunt can. After a few chance meetings, he convinces her to take a journey of adventure instead of alcohol. With each new city and experience, Kelsey's mind becomes a little clearer and her heart a little less hers. Jackson helps her unravel her own dreams and desires. But the more she learns about herself, the more Kelsey realizes how little she knows about Jackson.

My review:

It was a good read, but I got to be honest. I heard a lot of good things about this book. I read Losing It & Faking It. Loved both of this books. But this one? I guess I had my expectations too high. I started reading it and I was intrigued for all the things that were happening. But for me it got very predictable, like I knew what the secret that he was keeping from her before she found out. I stopped reading it when I was in chapter 21. Then recently I wanted to if it turned out the way I thought. It was a month later that I finished it and I think it was great. I seriously expected the book to be one of the best. This is my opinion, and if you want to try it then, go ahead. It's a good read, but I seriously expected more.

About the author:

Cora Carmack is a twenty-something writer who likes to write about twenty-something characters. She's done a multitude of things in her life-- boring jobs (like working retail), Fun jobs (like working in a theatre), stressful jobs (like teaching), and dream jobs (like writing). She enjoys placing her characters in the most awkward situations possible, and then trying to help them get a boyfriend out of it. Awkward people need love, too. She is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Losing It series.

Crash Into You (Pushing The Limits #3) by Katie McGarry - Book Review!

Merry Christmas everybody! And here is my present to you.
Hope you like it!

Crash Into You by Katie McGarry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Published: November 26th, 2013
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Series: Pushing the Limits (#3)
Format: Hardcover
Pages: 474
Source: Gift from Cousin
Main Characters: Isaiah, Rachel, Echo, Noah
Book Links: Amazon | Barnes & Noble

Summary from Goodreads:

From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

My Review:

Amazing! Loved every second of it!

This book is a little bit different for me. See, I haven't read any books that relate to cars, drag racing , etc. I thought I wasn't going to like it at all. Oh, but I was sooooo wrong.

I read Pushing the Limits and Dare You To a few months ago. I literally fell in love with them. This book has blown all the expectations that I had about it, the problems that Rachel and Isaiah struggle in this book are so unbelievable true. They are things that are happening right now. I love the story and the way Isaiah cares for Rachel. They are so perfect together. I didn't expect Rachel to be and have the problems that she has in this book, and I certainly didn't expect Isaiah to be so gentle and good. Katie McGarry describes him like a rough, tattooed, intimidating dark guy. And that's how he was, until he met Rachel. They're good for each other and they will pass all the obstacles that appear together.

About the Author:

KATIE MCGARRY was a teenager during the age of grunge and boy bands and remembers those years as the best and worst of her life. She is a lover of music, happy endings, and reality television, and is a secret University of Kentucky basketball fan.

Katie would love to hear from her readers. Contact her via her website, katielmcgarry.com, follow her on Twitter @KatieMcGarry, or become a fan on Facebook and Goodreads.

Damaged (Damaged #1) by H.M. Ward - Book review!

Damaged by H.M. Ward
My rating: 4.5 stars
Published: April 7th 2013
Publisher: Laree Bailey Press
Series: Damaged
Format: ebook
Pages: 176
Main Characters: Dr. Peter Granz, Sidney Colleli

My review:

First of all… I love this cover! Don't you like it? It's so sexy! 5 stars to this cover!

Ok, moving on to the topic in hand… I give 4.5 stars to this book

It was't a bad read. I actually found it pretty different and easy to read. The reason I say different is because they had swing dancing. I seriously don't know someone who does it. But it was fun to have something different. I really thought it was going to be a lot Like Losing It by Cora Carmack because the description is pretty much the same. But this two books are totally Poles apart. And I don't say this in a bad way because I love both books. The reason they are different is that they both have the same story, but they have different problems and issues. Peter and Sidney's story will make you want to know more of what happened and what is going to happen, I really recommend this book.

Exciting J. Lynn News!!

Hi guys!

A couple of days ago I received an e-mail from Abigail Tyson, an assistant publicist from Harper Collins Publishers, that as the tittle of this post suggests has some exciting J. Lynn news. You probably know that her next book Be With Me will be coming out on February 4th . This book is the official sequel to Wait for you and it features Teresa (Cam's sister) and Jase (Cam's best friend). But what you most likely don't know is that in the print version only you will find an exclusive never-before-seen scene between Teresa and Jase that won't exist in the e-book version. That's right, if you can get your hands on a print copy of Be With Me, you will be privy to a super exclusive scene you can't get anywhere else! So if you are a J. Lynn/Jennifer L. Armentrout fan like me, and loved Cam and Avery's story then I recommend buying the Be with Me printed copy.

xoxo, Alejandra :)

Othello Cover Reveal!

Othello (Shakespeare for Everyone Else, #2)
Release Date: 2013

Summary from Goodreads:
Shakespeare’s work features some of the most memorable stories and characters ever created, yet for too many curious readers the combination of ultra-dense dialogue and unfamiliar historical settings make tackling the Bard’s work something between a tedious chore and a confusing mess of bird-bolts and quondam carpet-mongers.

While it’s nearly impossible to replicate or improve on these works, it is (thanks to their timeless nature) possible to make them more accessible to a wider audience.

In this Young Adult retelling of one of William Shakespeare’s most memorable plays, join C.E. Wilson as she breathes new life into Othello, the second book in her series Shakespeare for Everyone Else.

About the Author
C.E. Wilson is currently living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with her husband and her two dogs and two cats. They are all the loves of her life. When she’s not writing young adult fantasy novels, she enjoys writing short stories on her Deviant Art page. She loves to write stories involving giants and little people (also known as GT) and nothing helps her to write more than Coca-Cola and glazed doughnut holes.

Twelve Steps Cover Reveal!

Twelve Steps
by Veronica Bartles
Release Date: 03/25/14

Book Summary:
Sixteen-year-old Andi is tired of being a second-class sibling to perfect sister Laina. There in Laina's shadow, Andi's only noticeable feature is her pretty awesome hair. And even that is eclipsed by Laina's perfect everything else.

When Andi’s crush asks her to fix him up with Laina, Andi decides enough is enough and devises a twelve-step program to wrangle the spotlight away from Laina. After all, great hair must count for something.

Step 1: Admit she’s powerless to change her perfect sister, and accept that her life really, really sucks. OK, maybe that's two steps in one.

Step 4: Make a list of her good qualities besides great hair. There have got to be at least three good qualities, right?

Step 7: Demand attention for more than just her shortcomings, and break out of her shell. Easier said that done, but worth the effort in the long-run.

When a stolen kiss from her crush ends in disaster, Andi finds that her prince isn’t as charming as she'd hoped, and realizes she may need a new program--perhaps with less steps!

As cracks in Laina’s flawless façade begin to show, the sisters work together to find a spotlight big enough for both to shine.

About the Author
As the second of eight children and the mother of four, Veronica Bartles is no stranger to the ups and downs of sibling relationships. (She was sandwiched between the gorgeous-and-insanely-popular older sister and the too-adorable-for-words younger sister.) She uses this insight to write stories about siblings who mostly love each other, even while they’re driving one another crazy.   When she isn’t writing or getting lost in the pages of her newest favorite book, Veronica enjoys knitting fabulous bags and jewelry out of recycled plastic bags and old VHS tapes, sky diving (though she hasn’t actually tried that yet), and inventing the world’s most delectable cookie recipes.

TWELVE STEPS is Veronica Bartles's first novel.
